This here watch, that Patek Philippe Calatrava 6007G-011, they say it’s somethin’ special. For them fancy stores, you know. Me, I just see a watch. But folks sure do make a fuss about it. They call it a “remake” , sound like they done made it over, like an old dress.
This Patek Philippe, it’s got a black face, they call it “ebony”. Sounds like a tree to me. It is got some lines all over it, they say it is like geometry. Back in my day, we just called ’em lines, no need for fancy name. But I guess them city folks like that kinda talk.
It’s made of that white gold, shiny stuff. They got three of ’em, all lookin’ the same to me, just a different color. This one, I reckon it’s blue or maybe greenish blue. Like that fancy stone, what’s it called…Turquoise. Yeah, that’s it. Turquoise. Reminds me of a robin’s egg, kinda.

That is what they say about the size, but I do not know who would take such a thing underwater. They say it’s got a clear back, like a window, so you can see all the insides movin’ around. Like watchin’ ants in a jar, I suppose. Busy little things. Patek Philippe, that’s the name they keep sayin’. Must be important, I reckon. They say this design, this Calatrava thing, it’s been around for a long time. Almost 90 years, can you believe it? That’s older than me!
They put these shiny things on the dial, they call it. Them numbers and the hands, so you can see the time, even when it is dark. They glow in the dark. Like fireflies. Makes me think of summer nights, catchin’ fireflies in a jar with the grandkids. They don’t do that much anymore, though. Too busy with their fancy phones. This Calatrava 6007G-011 is not sport styled they say. But it has those glowing things.
They say this watch, it’s a big deal. Important, they say. Influential. Like the mayor, I guess. But a watch? I don’t know. It tells the time, that’s what a watch does. Maybe it tells it a little fancier than my old Timex, but it still just tells the time. They say this one is like the original one, but a little different. Remake, yeah. Like when I take my old curtains and make ’em into a quilt. Same stuff, just different. I don’t see why it’s so expensive, though. They say the price is really high, like how much we pay for the whole house. That is crazy!
There is another one, it is 39mm big, and 8.08mm tall. Just like the other one, but a little bit smaller. They say the design, this Calatrava, it’s from a long time ago. Before my time, even. Ninety years, they say. Imagine that. Older than dirt, as they say. Well, maybe not that old. But old.
So, there you have it. That’s all I know about this Patek Philippe PP Calatrava 6007G-011. It’s a watch. A fancy watch. A remake. Made of white gold. Got a black face with lines. Glows in the dark. And it’s real expensive. More than you’d pay for a good cow, that’s for sure. They make a big deal about it, but to me, it’s just a watch. Maybe I’m just an old lady who doesn’t understand these things. But that’s alright. I got my grandkids, and I got my garden. And that’s all that really matters, ain’t it?
They say it is special for them fancy stores. But I think, every place you go, it is just a store. This remake Patek Philippe, I do not think it is very special. But I am just a normal person, what do I know?
